The representatives of the Nepalese Muslim Civilian Society (NMCS) while accusing Central Hajj Committee of laundering Hajj funds called on for a impartial investigation into the proceedings of the committee. The Society claimed that the Hajj committee had charged twenty thousands extra to every Hajj pilgrim this year by organizing a press meet at the Reporters Club, Nepal today.
Senior Vice President of the society Dr. Marul Hooda Ansari said that every pilgrim had to pay seventeen hundred thousands rupees as their cumulative expenses for the pilgrimage instead of the actual charge of fifteen thousand one hundred and fifty rupees.
He further called on the Home Ministry to take serious actions against the Committee's president Maulana Abdul Jabbar Manjari and other officials of the committee while warning the ministry of taking to the streets if strict action was not taken actions the accused and if the pilgrims were not given back the extra amount taken by them.
